Set up or change direct deposit information with CRA

The Canada Revenue Agency offers three ways to change your direct deposit banking information for all accounts

  1. You can call CRA directly at 1-800-959-8281.
  2. You also can include your new banking information on page 4 of your personal tax return.
  3. Change it online by going to CRA’s My Account

To set up or change your direct deposit information online with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), you can follow these steps:

Log in to your CRA My Account or CRA My Business Account.

Under “Account Settings,” select “Direct deposit.” Review the information on the page, including the benefits and credits that are eligible for direct deposit.

Click on “Add Account” or “Edit” to make changes to your existing direct deposit information.

Enter your banking information, including your bank account number and transit number.

Confirm your banking information by entering it again.

Click on “Submit” to save your changes.

Note: It may take up to 5 business days for your new or updated direct deposit information to take effect. You can also set up direct deposit by completing a direct deposit enrollment form (Form RC366) and mailing it to the CRA. The form is available on the CRA website or by contacting the CRA directly.
